About Danielle Birriel — Florida SEO & AI Search Specialist
About Danielle Birriel

I've spent 12 years learning how search actually works.

Now I spend my time on the question most people are getting wrong: why you can rank on Google and still be invisible to AI.

I'm Danielle Birriel — an SEO and AI search specialist in Florida. I have a master's in computer science, a bachelor's in marketing, and a stubborn belief that the two aren't as different as everyone thinks. This is the story of how I got here and what I've come to believe.

How a computer science major ended up obsessed with being found

I came into this field from an unusual door. Most people in SEO arrive through marketing, content, or PR. I arrived through computer science — I have a master's in it — and I paired that with a bachelor's in marketing from the University of Central Florida. For years that felt like two halves that didn't quite fit together.

Then I started working in search, and it clicked. Search isn't a marketing problem wearing a technical costume, and it isn't an engineering problem with some copywriting bolted on. It's both at once — a system where content, code, and human trust all have to line up. That's the exact seam my two degrees sit on. Suddenly the thing that made me feel scattered became the thing that made me good at this.

"I don't see keywords. I see systems. That's the whole difference in how I approach this work."

Twelve years later, I've led more than 500 campaigns for over 100 businesses across 20-plus industries. I've watched Google change the rules more times than I can count. And I've learned that the people who panic every time search shifts are usually the ones who never understood the system underneath it. The fundamentals don't move nearly as fast as the headlines suggest.

Then AI search arrived — and everyone forgot the fundamentals overnight.

When ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews started reshaping how people find things, I watched a familiar pattern play out. A whole industry of brand-new "experts" appeared, selling a brand-new set of acronyms — GEO, AEO — as if search had been reinvented from zero and everything before it was obsolete.

My computer science brain looked at that and thought: this is backwards. AI systems don't pull recommendations out of thin air. They retrieve, weigh, and cite based on entity signals, content authority, and technical trust — the exact same infrastructure good SEO has always been building. The businesses winning inside AI answers aren't the ones who bought a shiny new service. They're the ones whose foundation was already strong enough for AI to trust.

So what changed for me?
Nothing about the fundamentals — and everything about the stakes. AI search made it painfully clear which businesses had built a real foundation and which had been faking it with tactics. That's the gap I decided to spend my time on.

The one argument I'll defend with data

AI search visibility is not a standalone discipline. It's what good SEO has always pointed toward. You don't bolt it on — you earn it, through infrastructure clean enough and authority real enough that AI systems can confidently retrieve and cite you.

SEO is the foundation. AI visibility is the result. I've said that so many times it's become the spine of everything I publish, and I keep saying it because the market keeps trying to sell people the reverse. My whole personal platform exists to make this case — not with opinions, but with controlled experiments across all five major AI platforms and real data on what actually gets cited.

These are the frameworks I've built to make the argument concrete — a way to measure and improve how ready a business is for a search world where the algorithm and the AI are both deciding whether to vouch for you.

The agency and the person — and why I keep them separate

I wear two hats, and I think it's only fair to be clear about which one you're looking at. Being upfront about this is part of how I work.
